Following a successful run, the Porsche 356 gave way to what eventually became the quintessential Porsche, the 911. Porsche's 911 proved to be a dominant sports and racing car in the 1960s after its debut in 1963. During its evolution, a series of breakthrough innovations enabled Porsche to build several high performance models including the Carrera 2.7 RS, the 930 Turbo and subsequent generations of the 911 Turbo. These cars were groundbreaking in design and revolutionary in their performance.
